Emergencies

If you have a medical emergency call 111

Tell the operator your name, your location and the nature of the emergency.
If you require non-emergency medical treatment outside our normal business hours, you can call our number (03 614 7002) and your call will be diverted to HML (Homecare Medical Limited). The call will be answered by a registered nurse and they will be able to provide you with the best advice on what to do.
The HML service covers from 5.00pm through to 8.30am on weekdays and 24 hours over weekends and public holidays.
If appropriate, they will organise contact for you with the Timaru duty doctor, or advise you to contact Timaru Hospital.
All of the Medical Centre practices in the district take turns on their duty roster. Pleasant Point are part of the Timaru after-hours roster

Please remember though, that in an emergency, don’t delay: call an ambulance. Phone 111
